EA's take on Real-Time Strategy (RTS) gaming, Armies of Exigo has all the convoluted interfacing, resource hording, multi-tasking and micro-managerial hoopla that seems to endear fans of the genre.

You control armies their support personal in a fantasy-based, three-race brawl-for-all, all swathed with EA's penchant for production values and high end graphical panache. Too, gameplay has a certain freshness in that the battlefields are layered, offering both underground subterfuge and topside skirmishing with elves and ogres and bugs, oh my.

Beyond that, however, Armies of Exigo offers little new to the world of RTS. Then again, it's not trying to (and how could you?). It's just their take on it, and it's predictably solid.
