Mario Golf (N64)
Not since Sony’s Hot Shots Golf has a video game been so inviting and friendly while remaining true to the spoiled-walk-in-the-woods sport. All you favorite fat heads are here, PlumberBoy, Yoshi, Peach- 14 characters in all and chock full of that famous Nintendo personality.

And, staying true to the fluffy kiddie mandate, Mario Golf is fairly easy to play- yet it remains true to golf as a simulation. Well, true depending on what mode you’re in. Speed Golf is a howl, "Ring Shot" is for sharp shooters, and Mini Golf is just that- way easy. Fun for the whole famn damily. And like any Mario game, there are treats and prizes to be unlocked/acquired. Environments are traditional Mario fair as well with courses on Yoshi's Island, Koopa Park, Boo Valley, etc. Golf purists may disdain the overly cutesy wootsy look and feel of Mario Golf but then, they’re really missing the point of video gaming, especially video gaming on the N64. I really like a good golf simulation but Mario Golf is that and it’s funny to boot. It’s a little over stuffed with wholesome goodness, but I like it.
