With an obvious nod to Tim Burtons' Mars Attacks as well as X-Files and 50's B-movie movie spoofs in general, THQ's Destroy All Humans! could be best considered an action/comedy hybrid.

With a Roswellian-rescue sort of theme, you play as a classic undersized alien with oversized eyes in a series of missions that'll have you mutilating cows, probing cavities, harvesting DNA, avoiding G-Men-in-Black, brainwashing citizens, impersonating politicians and, ultimately, destroying hapless humans; all of them, idyllically.

You do each of these in a variety of ways--with some more effective than others, obviously--be it stealthily disguised, mindfully mind-controlling or with ray-guns a-blazin' and flying saucer a-flyin'.

The game has its share of graphic coughs and sputters, but it's a decidedly easy action game nonetheless, which is a good thing as said ease is part of the comedy, which is where Destroy All Humans truly excels. Both the game's rich dialogue and situational irreverence in general are downright hilarious; well researched riffs and twists on just about every alien cliché every seen, heard or, uh, experienced... in some cases, allegedly, at least.

[TIP: For invincibility in Destroy All Humans! (PS2), pause your game, press and hold L2 then hit Square, Circle, Left, Left, Circle, Square.]
