Xbox Canada just launched a new multi-cog hype machine contest called "Get on the Grid."

Touted as a "one-of-a-kind online space for Canadian gamers to make their mark and win great prizes," the online cattle call scratch-and-win site at www.360000gamers.ca invites users to input their demographical information (name, address, age, favorite game genre, etc.) and voluntarily peg themselves as a total keener by picking a cubicle within a massive grid which may or may not contain a prize. 999 times in a thousand, in fact, a select spot reveals no prize, but the entrant is still thanked heartily and remains eligible for the grand prize, which should prove rather prized for its grandness, seeing as it's a 40" Samsung Black Bordeaux LCD TV and an Xbox 360 console; total value is about $3,700.00 Cdn.

Secondary/instant prizes include a smaller Samsung LCD TV (32") or one of a batch of Xbox 360 games, marketplace points cards, wireless controllers, etc.

Also, entering the matrix grid uncovers one 36,000th of a picture which will eventually be displayed in entirety after everyone signs up and picks a pixel.

"The Grid is our way of giving a uniquely Canadian shout out to the rest of the Xbox Live community around the world," said Jason Anderson, Head of Marketing, Xbox Canada. "It's a space where Canadian gamers can work together toward a common goal while getting the chance to win some great prizes at the same time."

Entrants must be a Canadian resident to be eligible and will be required to follow some basic email instructions as well as answer a math question. The Grand Prize draw is slated for August 7, 2006.
