Sony Ericsson Hobnobs with Bags of Stars
In support of its recently launched line of Walkman mobile phones, Sony Ericsson has signed on with the country’s first national DJ awards program.
The inaugural Sony Ericsson Stylus DJ Awards, which take place May 29 in Toronto, feature 24 award categories recognizing radio and club DJs from across Canada. The awards were created in an effort to acknowledge the achievements of DJs, musicians and record labels, as well as raise awareness of the dynamic urban music scene in Canada and worldwide.
Thus, Sony Ericsson gets to hobnob the latest Walkman Phone, the W810, with all the cool people, which seems an ideal relationship since the Walkman Phone, like it sounds, is a slick, Bluetooth Uber Swiss Army-ish mobile phone and digital music player.
Also, Sony Ericsson plans to plop a whole lot of W600 Walkman Phones into the apparently-coveted Juno gift bags and, thus, into the hands of presenters, performers and hosts of the Juno Awards, which, in turn, means the likes of Pamela Anderson, Michael Bublé, Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, Broken Social Scene, Bedouin Sound Clash, Bryan Adams and other popular Canadian keyword search results that may or may not include "+honeymoon video" might very well soon be sighted with a left-handed endorsements stuck in their ear, otherwise known as the upside of swag.
