Ubisoft just announced a long-term worldwide licensing agreement with Touchstone Television to develop and publish a video game based on the Emmy Award-winning television series Lost.

Hence, Lost games are currently in development for all major platforms (console, handheld and PC) at Ubisoft's award-winning Montréal studio and scheduled to hit retail shelves worldwide in 2007.

"This deal is another example of how truly powerful the 'Lost' brand is," said Bruce Gersh, senior vice president, business development, ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television. "We are excited to work together with Ubisoft to create a gaming experience that will allow fans to further immerse themselves into the mysteries and intrigues of the series."

Best described as the Twilight Zone for the 21st century, or maybe A Nightmare on Gilligan's Island Street, Lost tells a tangled tale of plane crash survivors stuck on a deserted Pacific island that looks like a 5 star Hawaiian resort except without the resort, who spend their days knocking the chips of each other's shoulders, their nights avoiding some crazed cultish displaced draft dodgers and their mornings showering, trimming their 5 o'clock shadows, eating no-name brand Corn Flakes as provided in a package deal of a mysterious science project that nobody apparently monitors any more, while waiting for somebody to shoot somebody, which happens roughly once a month.

A natural premise for a videogame, obviously.
