As of Sunday, August 6, five additions will be made to the PlayStation2 "Greatest Hits" lineup: SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy Seals, Shadow of the Colossus, Ratchet: Deadlocked, Jak X: Combat Racing and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves.

Traditionally, PS2 games that have sold really well (i.e. hundreds of thousands of copies), thereby establishing themselves as titles of mass appeal--not to mention way-in-the-black--, get repackaged and sold anew at the "value" price point of $20 USD/$25 CDN (normally they're $40 - $60 each).

Today's announcement marks a total of 169 "Greatest Hits" titles for the PlayStation 2 library; the most of any platform--Xbox has 61 "Platinum Hits" and GameCube has 27 "Player's Choice" titles of similar "hit" stature.
