Namco Bandai Group took the wraps off its new lineup of games at the Tokyo Game Show.

Making a return in a new-and-improved guise is Digimon World, which moves from the console to the handheld with Digimon World DS for the Nintendo DS (obviously). The game builds on the collect-'em-all mania of the Digimon franchise, which is all about collecting, um, stuff, but also sports a new twist in that players can continue to interact with, breed and generally cause mayhem with their collection of Digimons once it's complete. Digimon World DS will launch in North America this fall.

Meanwhile, the band camp crowd will surely love Namco Bandai's Eternal Sonata, a new RPG based around a dying composer and two young kids who try to save the world. The game melds elements of real-time and turn-based battles against a variety of beautifully rendered (but bad! Very bad!) enemies. Key to all of this, according to the publisher, is a "special attack feature dependent on light and shadow." Eternal Sonata will be available for the Xbox early next year.
