Blowing money the way only a university can, Hamilton ON's McMaster University recently announced it had built a first-of-a-kind interactive motion simulator for teaching students how to develop various types of games and simulations.
The unit, which is as big as a cargo van, can treat five people at a time to projection video, Dolby Digital surround sound, six distinct types of movement and up to 0.6 Gs of acceleration (like that's not going to be abused after hours).
The school says it built the simulator to try to bolster enrolment in computer science and software engineering programs, which are on the decline.
