Holy sweet tooth, Batman, the number-one cell phone in South Korea is now available in Canada through Telus.
The LG Electronics Chocolate model (also known by the homely moniker of LG 8500) boasts a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, high-speed Bluetooth v1.1 connectivity, and an expansion slot accommodating MicroSD memory cards holding up to 1 gigabyte’s worth of extra memory. The svelte handset that comes in either black or white, both featuring a sultry glowing red keypad. (OK, a white-chocolate phone, sure, but black? Introducing "the Liquorice"? Just doesn’t have the same ring to it... ha ha.)
Telus is also offering what it calls the Hot Chocolate content package for the phone, which includes its mobile music service for streaming audio content, including XM satellite radio, and mobile television featuring 23 different channels. The device costs $330 Cdn on its own, $280 with a 1 year contact, $180 with a 2 year or just $130 with a 3-year contract.
Introduced in South Korea last November, the Chocolate - marketed elsewhere as the KG800 - has sold more than 3.5 million units internationally since then.
