Toronto, ON, November 28 - HMV is launching an online draw to sell some of its limited supply of remaining Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Nintendo Wii consoles.

As an alternative to long line-ups or in-store sold-out disappointment, would-be consumers can enter into a draw to purchase one of the select gaming consoles at the HMV store of their choice across Canada.

"We understand the challenge consumers are facing trying to secure these popular items," understated Humphrey Kadaner, President, HMV Canada. "This is our way of ensuring we're giving consumers an equal chance to buy the Wii or PS3."

Earlier this fall, HMV expanded its business focus to carry video games in addition to being the top specialty music and DVD retailer. Twenty-two HMV stores in Canada carry the latest software titles plus hardware including the coveted Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 consoles. In early 2007, HMV plans to launch video games and hardware in additional stores.
