Alienware overclocks laptop, adds Blu-ray, Vista readiness
Someday, Alienware is going to put out a new computer full of last year's parts and sell it at this year's blowout-supersavings superprice for less-than-a-dollar-a-day. Just after hell freezes over. Today, just the same old freaky-fast new stuff.

Alienware, purveyors of premium PC and laptops, just launched yet another super system with the Area-51 m5790 Special Edition notebook, the latest high-performance notebook to join the Alienware's rather extensive mobile lineup.

On top of signature stylishness and always-eye-catchingly cool design, the m5790 some brand-new technologies such as overclocked Intel Core 2 Duo processors, ATI Mobility Radeon X1900 graphics and Blu-ray optical drives along with other boffo components like dual hard drives with up to 400GB of storage capacity and a 17-inch, widescreen, 1080p LCD display.

The horsepower and graphics capability of the Area-51 m5790 Special Edition, which starts at $1,299.00 USD, is also innately suited to the much-ballyhooed/overly-hyped release of Microsoft Windows Vista Premium and Ultimate Editions, and all Alienware systems ordered through January 30th are eligible for free upgrades to Microsoft Windows Vista.

"The Alienware Area-51 m5790 Special Edition offers knockout multimedia performance for users who routinely perform a multitude of power-hungry applications like gaming and digital content management," said Mark Vena, Vice President of Marketing for Alienware.
