Stan Lee, creator of comic icons including Spider-Man, the Hulk, and the X-Men, has long had a tendency to make cameo appearances in the films based on his characters. Now, for the first time, he's doing the same for videogames.

Activision just revealed that Lee would be making his videogame debut in the upcoming action game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

"I am thrilled to be making my first onscreen videogame cameo in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," Lee explained. "It's such a kick to see characters that I've helped create come to life in the game and now I'm a part of the Marvel videogame universe!"

Reportedly, the game will focus on the recent Marvel Civil War story arc, which introduces the Superhero Registration Act: a law that forces super heroes to reveal their true identities and work for the American government.

In the game, players must choose which side of the registration debate they believe in, assuming the roles of popular characters like Iron Man, Wolverine, and Captain America. How Lee will fit into the game has yet to be revealed, with his role only described as "significant."

"Stan is a legend in the comic world," said Activision's Rob Kostich, head of marketing for licensed properties. "With Activision's long-standing history of bringing so many of Stan Lee's creations to life, it's great to be able to incorporate him into Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2."
