As one of the better iterations in a hit and miss franchise, Resident Evil 4 (RE4) was a critical and commercial hit on the previous generation of videogame consoles (i.e. PlayStation2, GameCube). With iPhone boasting horsepower near to that old generation, Capcom has brought the known money-maker to Apple's flagship handheld device.
While the mobile edition of RE4 is said to follow the same story line of its home console counterpart - players attempt to rescue the President's daughter from an unnamed European village, only to discover that it has been overrun by a zombie-like cult - iPhone-specific augmentations include on-screen, thumb-smudging controls for movement, while shaking the device will reload weapons.
Featuring what Capcom proclaims to be "the best 3D graphics to date on iPhone," RE4 for iPhone will also include a new Mercenary Mode beset with mini-game-like goals, weapons, and conditions.
Resident Evil 4 for is currently available for both the iPhone and iPod Touch for US/C$7.99.
