More Tetris action heading to Nintendo platforms
Majesco and Tetris Online have announced that they are joining forces to bring the classic puzzle game, Tetris, to the Nintendo Wii and DS. Few details were revealed except that both are expected to be released in the spring of next year.
"Majesco was a natural choice to help us bring the latest evolution of the Tetris franchise to market," said Tetris Online CEO, Minoru Arakawa. "Their distribution strength and expertise in the mass market will help ensure that our upcoming Wii and Nintendo DS games reach as many fans as possible."
These will be the second versions of the falling block game for both systems. Nintendo developed and published Tetris DS back in 2006, while Hudson Soft developed the download-only Tetris Party (pictured), published by Tetris Online Inc. for Wii last year.
"We are thrilled to partner with Tetris Online to release one of the world's most popular video games of all time," gushed Jesse Sutton, CEO of Majesco, who may or may not have had dollar signs bulging from his eyeballs.
