A decade after the sci-fi cartoon comedy Futurama first hit the airwaves, Fox is issuing a massive DVD box-set that will contain the entire series to date.
Futurama: The Complete Collection will include all four seasons of the show as well as the four direct-to-DVD feature films released after its original episodic run on Fox from March 28, 1999 to August 10, 2003.
Futurama has been in syndication ever since.
Interestingly, back in June, 20th Century Fox announced that Comedy Central had picked up the show for 26 new half-hour episodes, which are scheduled to air in 2010.
For now, there's Futurama: The Complete Collection, but only for a limited time as only 25,000 copies will be produced, reportedly.
In addition to the 72 episodes and four movies, the collection will also come packed with bonuses, including the usual gaggle of commentaries, deleted scenes, bloopers, etc., plus a "letter" written by series creator Matt Groening and producer David X Cohen.
Pre-orders for Futurama: The Complete Collection begin today (September 2) while the box set itself will hit retail shelves on October 13 for a whopping US$169.98, C$199.98.
