Sony Computer Entertainment America just announced that HBO programming is available as of today on the PlayStation3 (PS3) and PlayStation Portable (PSP). Sony declares that the PS3 is the first gaming system to offer HBO original television programming, delivering it via the PlayStation Network's video delivery service as content for purchase in the United States.

Beginning today, popular shows available from the award-winning cable network are available on the HBO section of PlayStation Store, including True Blood, Big Love, Entourage, Eastbound and Down, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Wire, Rome, Da Ali G Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Flight of the Conchords.

"We're extremely pleased to offer our premium programming on Sony Computer Entertainment's PS3 system," said Henry McGee, president, HBO Home Entertainment. "This premier gaming system will offer an exciting new way for consumers to purchase HBO's award-winning programming."
